HOW DOES IT WORK?
Microneedling utilizes an instrument (with little needles on the end) that is rolled carefully around the skin to puncture and create micro-injuries that “interrupt” the tissues and produce collagen. Some also refer to this as collagen induction therapy. New skin forms as the skin heals, leaving the top layer feeling and looking brighter, smoother, and refreshed. While this process is often performed by itself, combining this advanced technique with radiofrequency microneedling technologies has allowed us to optimize the outcomes for our patients.
This method is relatively straightforward. The handheld device, which emits radiofrequency heat, provides brief pulses of RF energy from the Agnes device via an array of nine different types of microneedles. These microneedles feature different insulations to protect the epidermis and other tissues as the RF energy from Agnes targets specific areas but saves surrounding tissues from the residual heat of the device.
For patients who may experience very high levels of anxiety or low levels of tolerance to pain, we offer the use of PRO-NOX™, a device that delivers a mixture of nitrous oxide to numb the patient’s sensations.
WHAT TO EXPECT
The RF microneedling procedure will be performed inside the Secrets Aesthetics and Wellness Center facility with the use of numbing cream to decrease any discomfort. During your procedure, the handheld device will slide across the desired area, repeating the technique until the desired results have been reached. You should anticipate tiny pinpoint scabs to appear 24 – 72 hours after treatment, which will naturally shed when the underlying skin has healed. Outcomes become noticeable as the skin heals over a month after microneedling with the RF procedure. Optimal results generally call for 3 – 4 treatments one month apart.
DOES IT HURT?
After a local anesthetic is put on the treatment area, you should experience minimal discomfort during the procedure. During your procedure, our team will ensure you feel comfortable.
